Russian verb conjugation introduction
Conjugating regular verbs in present
Russian regular verbs can be categorized into two main groups based on their infinitive forms: those ending in -ть and those ending in -ти. The majority of verbs fall into the -ть category, while some verbs fall into the -ти category. There are also some exceptions that end in -чь, like the verb беречь – “to protect”.
- Мне нужно работать - I have to work
- жить - to live
- знать - to know
- говорить - to speak
- любить - to love
- нести - to bring
- идти - to go
- беречь - to protect
Among the -ть verbs, there are two additional distinctions. When conjugating verbs ending in -ять and -ать in the present tense, utilize the following endings: Down below can be seen the two verbs with their conjugations: “работать – to work” and “удалять – to remove”
